Newsletter 5th April 2023 > End of Term 1

Wow what a term it has been. While the term appears to have gone so quickly, for all of our staff I am certain that they are looking forward to a break.

I thank our staff for their wonderful work. Our young people are truly lucky to have them in their lives to assist them to move toward positive pathways. We have seen some great attendance and record enrolment numbers across all campuses.

A special thank you to Dan Brown and Rebecca Peters for their leadership of our new South Melbourne campus and to the staff who work each day and travel to this campus to ensure that it has got off and running in the most fantastic way.

For me the ability to finally get the State Minister for Education - Minister Hutchins to our school has to be the highlight, we have worked for more than 18 months to secure a visit from the State Education Minister, I think that we are truly on the map!

For each of you, our students and our community, I would like for you to reflect on the 5 best "bits" for the term, although some days and weeks are tough, remember the difference you make each and every day.

This term we farewell Arly Hocking (Prahran campus), Alice Harvey (South Melbourne Campus), we wish you both well and thank you for everything that you have done for our students.

Please don't forget our Student Progress Meetings begin on Wednesday 26th April. A reminder to ensure that if you have not already, please book your meeting with the classroom youth worker as soon as possible.

Classes begin for all students on Monday 1st May.

This term for all students your focus must be on attending each and every VET class on a Tuesday. No VET hours means that our young people are not able to achieve their senior school certificates.

I ask that you stay safe over the holiday period, rest up, do something special for yourself and we will see you ready to go for Term 2.

Happy Easter, enjoy your Ramadan celebrations and for those lucky enough to be involved in the Pesach (Passover) enjoy your celebrations too.

Take care and thank you.
