Melbourne Academy to become an Independent School

Melbourne Academy to become an Independent School 23 January 2017

Melbourne City Mission is proud to announce that approval was granted for Melbourne Academy to become an Independent School.

Going forward the Melbourne Academy will be known as The Hester Hornbrook Academy, an Independent school run by our organisation.

The Academy was established to provide supportive and flexible learning programs with a strong focus on reengagement and wellbeing.

The aim is to reconnect young people with education and training and empower them to use these tools to build a positive future.

Classrooms are designed to support young people who have faced barriers to learning in the past. Classes will be delivered from five sites in and around Melbourne as well as online.

The Hester Hornbrook Academy offers Foundation, Intermediate and Senior level VCAL in a flexible learning environment, which gives students the opportunity to work on both individual areas of interest, as well as group activities.
