Melbourne City Mission can confirm a student of its independent school, The Hester Hornbrook Academy, has tested positive to COVID-19.
The student is now in self-isolation at home and Hester Hornbrook Academy staff remain in touch with the student to support them during this time.
The Victorian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) as advised that as the student was last on campus on 17 July contact tracing is not required.
As a precautionary measure based on the advice of the DHHS and the Victorian Department of Education and Training (DET), all three Hester Hornbrook Academy campuses will close temporarily from 1.30 pm today for deep cleaning until Friday 31 July.
The Academy will continue with remote learning until all campuses reopen on Monday 3 August.
MCM and The Hester Hornbrook Academy are working closely with DHHS and DET to ensure all steps are taken to ensure the safety of staff and students.
