Equip Youth aims to improve literacy and numeracy skills using one-to-one individual or one-to-two small group literacy and numeracy intervention. Each young person is engaged with a fulltime youth worker who supports them to develop important life skills, such as: meal planning, basic cooking, budgeting, art therapy. They can also provide support to obtain a driver’s licence, accessing public transport, access to our school lawyer, develop computer skills and work with us on any other individual wellbeing and learning requirements
Young people are supported to learn at their own pace and the intervention targets specific skill gaps. Sessions with the youth worker will be one-to-one or in small groups of up to four people. Along with on campus support, the young people are supported off campus too.
