About Hester Hornbrook Academy

Hester Hornbrook Academy is an independent special assistance school which provides flexible education and learning options, including, VPC (Victorian Pathways Certificate), VM (VCE Vocational Major), VETiS (Vocational Education and Training in Schools) and an extend program offering a variety of elective subjects.

At Hester Hornbrook we recognise that mainstream education is not suitable for all young people. Our Healing Orientated Program of Education (HOPE) (TM) informs our practice model which ensures the integration of academic intervention and growth with wellbeing and life skills.

Teachers, youth workers, and education support staff work together to support students to reach their individual goals. Our students include young people who have disengaged from mainstream education, currently in or leaving out of home care, experiencing homelessness, young people who may be experiencing mental health challenges or learning difficulties and young parents.

We are proud of the strong community we have created across our campuses and our staff are the key to Hester Hornbrook's success with young people. We employed an impressive cohort of staff in 2025 and we are keen to hear from anyone who is interested in working with us in 2026 and beyond.

We have exciting opportunities in a variety of positions in and out of the classroom across our school for the 2026 and 2027 school year. Job opportunities include recruitment for our new Geelong Campus, opening in 2027.
