NAIDOC

NAIDOC

As a school, NAIDOC falls in our term break. To celebrate, this week Hester Hornbrook Academy created installations and held activities across campuses. We will also kick start term 3 with more NAIDOC celebrations.

National NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia in the first week of July each year (Sunday to Sunday), to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.

We are committed to deepening cultural understanding, reducing cultural load, and creating a safer, more empowering space for First Nations people within our school community. Through these commitments, Hester Hornbrook continues to build a future grounded in healing, opportunity, pride, and empowerment for First Nations students and staff.
