Hester Hornbrook Academy HWEI Foundation Submission achieves Bronze!

We've got something to celebrate! Hester Hornbrook Academy has achieved Bronze status for our Health and Wellbeing Equality Index (HWEI) Foundation Submission.

Awarded by Pride in Health and Wellbeing (PIHW), Bronze is the only status granted in this initial stage of the Index, and it is an outstanding result for Hester Hornbrook staff and students.

MCM Housing and MCM Services completed the HWEI Foundation in 2025 and, for their Advanced Submissions in early 2026 , achieved Silver and Gold, respectively. The next stage of the LGBTQIA+ Inclusion journey is taking Hester Hornbrook Academy and Quantum Support Services through the HWEI from Foundation to Advanced.

LGBTQIA+ Inclusion Lead Liz (Elizabeth) Shield (she/her) and the HWEI Working Group are leading this work, and we expect the whole of MCM Group to have completed the HWEI benchmarking by January 2027.
