Learning at Hester Hornbrook Academy

We believe that education is a critical tool for giving young people a passport out of disadvantage.
Education should not just focus on an academic outcome but be holistic in meeting the wider needs of a young person. Therefore, measurement of success should be unique to the individual and not universal.
The school is driven by 5 principles, underpinned by our mission to transform the lives of young people.

Individualised Learning

Classroom Teams operate from each campus. This team comprises of an Educator (teacher), Youth
Worker and Education Support Officer. This partnership is essential to the academic and wellbeing
outcomes for the students of HHA. Classroom teams will work together to manage students, co-ordinate wellbeing needs, develop Individual Education Plan and complete the end of semester reports and student progress interviews.

Teamwork is the key to a successful classroom team and individualised learning for each young person at Hester Hornbrook.
