Schools/third party referrers/support staff FAQs

 

I work at the young person’s previous school and we have received a request for previous school reports. Can Hester Hornbrook provide more context about this? 

 

Hester Hornbrook is a registered Special Assistance School. that supports students to re-engage with education. We can enrol students if they meet the below criteria: 

 

  1. They have social/emotional challenges and cognitive and sensory disabilities.  
  2. They have disengaged from education. 

In order to determine if the young person meets the second criteria, we require copies of the young person’s last two school reports. We request these documents from the young person and their family as well as the previous school. 

 

As a third-party referrer/supporter staff, can I support the young person or parents/guardians/carers with the enrolment process?  

 

All enrolment correspondence will be sent to the parent/guardian’s email. Due to privacy concerns, we are not allowed to share any information. However, you could reach out to contact the parent/guardians/carers for updates.  

 

As a third-party referrer/supporter staff, how do I get an update on where the enrollment process is up to for the young person I am supporting?

As a third-party referrer/supporter staff, what if I have filled in the online enrolment criteria for a young person but have not yet heard back from anyone? 

 

Once the enrolment criteria form is filled in, the parent/guardian/carer will receive all further correspondence via their email.
